Feminist and Decolonial Approaches to Climate-Induced Migration, Loss and Damage

Women and girls are disproportionately affected by climate-induced loss and damage, including forced migration and displacement. Structural and systemic inequalities, such as limited access to resources, rights, and decision-making power, limit women’s abilities to protect themselves when they are displaced. Gender-just climate finance is required to address the needs of women facing displacement as an adaptation strategy or as an experience of loss and damage. This CSW66 parallel event, a partnership between the NGO Committee on Migration and the NGO Committee on Financing for Development, will feature stories of loss and damage, leadership and resilience from women from climate-vulnerable places around the world, as well as discussion and recommendations from practitioners and policymakers.

This parallel event will be held on Wednesday, 16 March, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm (EDT). Click here to view the event flyer, and click here to register.
