On 6 February, Cecilie Kern, Chair of the NGO Committee on Migration, delivered an oral statement on behalf of our committee during the 64th session of the UN Commission for Social Development (CSocD64), calling on United Nations Member States “to resist the securitization and criminalization of migration, to reclaim human rights as the foundation of migration governance, and to realize the commitments of the Doha Declaration and the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.”
We invite you to join us in encouraging Member States to reaffirm international cooperation to halt the erosion of migrant rights and expand whole-of-society approaches to migration governance to build more resilient, inclusive societies..
